Building critical and responsible thinking

Elementary students participate in an active, innovative and comprehensive learning program. They learn to develop the ability to interrogate. Also they begin to build interdisciplinary relationships with all subjects enrolled in a school year.

Collaborative work between students, teachers and parents is essential to ensure the learning objectives are accomplished.

Students at this stage are actively involved with projects, written tests and assignments where the habit of reading, finding information and intellectual curiosity is encouraged. It is noteworthy that critical and responsible thinking is developed with the following subjects such as: English, Spanish, Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Writing and Calligraphy.

Understanding the scientific language

Exact sciences in our academic program are vital because they provide tools to generate a correct and proper scientific language for each grade. During the elementary level, students develop the ability to solve problems through mathematical logic and knowledge of the scientific method. Students participate annually in the Science Fair where they use math skills, oral and written expression, curiosity and problem solving processes based on the scientific method. The block of sciences subjects are Mathematics, Natural Science and Computer Science.

Global Ethics and Consciousness

Values are one of the fundamental pillars of our educational philosophy. Our institutional values are learned through daily application during curricular classes, assignments and homework. Within our academic program we reinforce the integral formation through values and citizenship.

For Cambridge School of Monterrey it is not only important educating with values but also to understand the current environment of our society. Therefore it is essential for our students to know the historical and global context of the various civilizations that have existed throughout our time. Our commitment to promote ethical and global awareness is strengthened through study of the subjects of history and geography.

Integral education

An integral approach of education is designed through complementary activities such as music and physical education. Students in music classes discover basic music theory. Students may select one of the following music ensembles:

  • Orchestra (strings ensemble): Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass.
  • Band (wind ensemble): Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Tuba, Trombone or Drums.

Students participate in physical education class to develop skills as speed, resistance, coordination and strength.

Family Events

Family is vital for our elementary students. Cambridge students constantly interact with their family members, especially with their parents and grandparents.
